David Hall
David Hall
David S. Hall was born and raised in Connecticut and currently resides in Oakland, California with his wife, Marta Thoma Hall. He earned a mechanical engineering degree from Case Western Reserve University. Hall’s approach to innovation combines direct experimentation with an openness to unorthodox solutions. His cross-industry success – from audio systems to autonomous navigation – illustrates a pattern of identifying technological gaps and developing practical engineering solutions. In sum, he is an American entrepreneur, engineer and inventor on a mission to revolutionize space exploration with his innovative electromagnetic propulsion system. Outside of inventing, David is an avid cyclist and skier who maintains residences in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii and Montana.


Marta Hall
Marta Hall
Marta Thoma Hall was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and raised in the Bay Area where she currently resides with her husband. She earned a BFA from UC Berkeley and a Master’s degree from the San Francisco State University. In her past leadership roles, she served as the president of Velodyne Lidar, Inc., as well as managed Velodyne Acoustics Inc together with her husband. Marta brings an extensive leadership and creative background to STMR, always injecting a bright energy to the company. Outside of her leadership positions, Marta is an American painter and sculptor, best known for her unique juxtaposition of imagery with a surreal bent.

Mac Apodaca
Mac Apodaca
Mac was born in El Paso, Texas and grew up in the oil patch of West Texas. He serves as the General Manager and has extensive experience in material science, semiconductors, electronic data storage and capital equipment. His background includes senior positions in startups and large companies alike including Intel and Western Digital. Mac is a named inventor on 29 US patents, 10 world patents and 1 China patent. He received an MBA from San Jose State University and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UT Austin. He also holds certificates in Data Mining & Machine Learning from San Jose State and Strategic Decision & Risk Management from Stanford. Mac is a board member of the Saratoga Swim Club and enjoys flying airplanes, racing track cars and sailing.

Fred Dueball
Fred Dueball
Fred Dueball was born and raised in THE motor city, Detroit, Michigan. He moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1983 and currently resides in Brisbane, California. He graduated from Ferndale High school and later graduated from Motech Automotive Technology Center. He has decades of experience in the “prototype field” performing design, machining and fabrication. His primary role for Shoot the Moon is to execute David’s ideas. In Fred’s spare time, he enjoys collecting art and antiques.


Jim Abela
Jim Abela
Jim was born and raised Palo Alto and currently resides in Palo Alto, California. He is a master fabricator specializing in custom fabrication using a multitude of varying materials. Jim’s role at STMR is to execute prototype fabrication ideas. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, bike riding, camping, scuba diving, and fishing.


Jonathan Cortez
Jonathan Cortez
Jonathan was born in Oakland and raised in the Bay Area all his life. He attended Hayward High School and later attended trade school. Jonathan has extensive experience in machining, construction management as well as 16 years+ of welding and fabrication experience. Prior to joining STMR, Jonathan worked repairing military, NOAA, and research vessels. There is nothing Jonathan cannot build or repair! Jonathan’s extensive experience in fabrication and welding makes a significant value add in executing Mr. Hall’s ideas and bringing them to life. In his spare time, Jonathan enjoys racing motorcross, off-roading, mountain biking, jujutsu, and enjoys building remote RC cars.


Josh Chong
Josh Chong
Josh Chong was born and raised in San Francisco. He later attended the University of California at Davis earning a B.S. Managerial Economics. Previously he worked in the venture capital and private equity industry, most notably for Standish Management. Currently, Josh serves as a senior staff accountant. In his spare time, he enjoys being a double bogey golfer and playing flag football.


Kevin Chen
Kevin Chen
Kevin was born and raised in Fremont, CA and is a recent graduate from UC Riverside with a Master's in Electrical Engineering. He has always enjoyed working with his hands while also challenging the mind. Here at STMR, he is one of our electrical engineers responsible for both software programming and hardware design and testing. In his spare time, he enjoys making and performing music including playing the saxophone for the Milpitas Community Concert Band as well as singing with the Pariter Vocal Ensemble.


Kristina Kotlier
Kristina Kotlier
Kristina was born and raised in the Bay Area and currently resides in Oakland, California. Kristina earned herself two B.A. Business Management/Economics and Interior Decision as well as a Master’s degree in Architecture from the California College of the Arts. She is a designer with many talents and is thrilled to bring her skills to this team, getting creative every day and jumping into whatever is needed along the way! After work, Kristina can be found covered in clay, making her latest ceramic installation or making silly faces with her new baby.


Levi Satterthwaite
Levi Satterthwaite
Levi was born and raised in San Luis Obispo, California. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo. After college, he worked for PwC LLP as an auditor and then later worked in family offices managing high-net worth and ultra-high net worth households. Currently, he serves as the accounting team for [Shoot the Moon Rocket Technologies, Inc.] and is an active board member for the Hall Art & Technology Foundation 501(c)(3). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and dog, Nala.


Noah Bloomquist
Noah Bloomquist
Noah Bloomquist is an electrical engineer at Velodyne Space who leads and supports various projects in the areas of pulsed power, energy storage, and digital communications. Noah received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from George Fox University where he enjoyed working on various electromechanical projects and worked in the machine shop. Outside of work, Noah enjoys watching and playing sports and backpacking and biking in the summer.
